ArtHouse Marketing serves as Jerry Rakfeldt’s vehicle for selected marketing, business development, partnership, and special project work.

Background

Jerry Rakfeldt’s early career included international business and advertising experience, including eight years in Japan and work connected to Toyota Motor Corporation and Saatchi & Saatchi.

Jerry acquired ArtHouse Marketing in 2007, a small company representing independent and art house cinemas, and used that foundation to build Spotlight Cinema Networks, launched in 2010 with partners Todd Wagner and Mark Cuban. Spotlight grew into the market leader in luxury and upscale cinema segment and was acquired in 2025 by National CineMedia, a publicly traded company and the largest cinema advertising platform in the U.S.

Concurrently, Jerry and Katty Rakfeldt have built Adrian’s Place Santa Monica and Adrian’s Place Foundation into a growing, mission-driven business and the go-to community hub for individuals with special needs, their families, and caregivers to participate in camps, enrichment classes and community events. Like Jerry’s other work, Adrian’s Place reflects a practical ability to identify a need, build structure, create trust, and turn an idea into something sustainable.

Across these chapters, Jerry’s work has centered on leadership, marketing, business development, creative thinking, technology, and building value through trusted partnerships.

Leadership & Partnerships

Jerry is often described as a creative thinker — someone who sees possibilities early, develops practical ideas, and tests them in the real world. He is equally known for staying focused on the end goal, filtering out noise and distractions, and keeping work moving toward a clear outcome.

His strongest work has often come through trusted partnerships. He believes that when the right people recognize a shared opportunity, goals become clearer, alignment builds, and meaningful work can move forward quickly.

As an owner and operator, Jerry has worked across the full range of building and running a specialized business, including relationships, revenue, strategy, marketing, teams, operations, technology, and execution. He has spent much of his career operating in complex environments where trust, judgment, discretion, and execution matter.

He is comfortable moving between high-level strategy and hands-on work, and believes in hiring strong people, trusting their expertise, and keeping the team focused on the end result.

His work is often about creating the foundation — the relationships, structure, trust, team, and execution — that allows an opportunity to take shape and build momentum.
